The Evil Spellbinder:

This guy was from the cartoon: "The Adventures Of Letter Man", which was a segment of The Electric Company. I had a few nightmares about this guy, back then.

I don't think he ever did find that damn rabbit...

"Hey Rocky! Watch me pull a rabbit out of this hat!"

Ancient Chinese secret, eh??

Snow days:

I loved snow days as a kid, although I only ended up spending the whole day inside watching TV, but still, any day off from school was a good day.

And now a word from our sponsor (as if I really get paid for doing this)...

"My baloney has a first name:
It's O-s-c-a-r
My baloney has a second name:
It's M-a-y-e-r
Oh I love to eat it every day
And if you ask me why I'll say:
'Cause Oscar Mayer has a way
With b-o-l-o-g-n-a.
How's that???"

Nobody who was around back in the day didn't see this commercial. This ran for several years. I had the above play fishing set he's holding, btw. It was quite common.

I wouldn't want that thing on my hand:

I remember the old Florida orange juice commercials with Anita Bryant. In retrospect, I must say there's something a bit disturbing about a bird whose head you could squeeze to make juice. Just sayin'.

Good morning, America. How are you.

Savoir Faire was everywhere.
Btw, is it just me, or does he look alot like Prince in the black-and-white pic??

Gambler:

I had this game in '77. It got played alot. On another note, I had a '74 McDonald's calender and the graphics looked alot like the ones on the game. I'm wondering if the same artist did both.

Had it:

I was just thinking about this and thought I'd do an image search. I had it, and it was circa '75 / '76. As soon as I saw the above pic, I remembered the front of the box immediately. On a side-note, I never really used it much.. and why anyone would have any need for a glow in the dark pen escapes me..

Um, lookin' kind of brown there...

In 1972, if you had a tan, you were "healthy". Some people really took their tanning seriously. I had no problem tanning without all of it. I easily got as dark as that model when I was a kid. I miss those careless summer days.

It's been over 30 years since I've had an ice cream soda.

Not fair:

When I was a kid I wanted an Easy Bake Oven, but was embarrassed to ask for one because they were a "girl's toy" (like boys weren't going to need to know how to cook someday....).

The next thing I remember, I am walking down a street
I'm feeling alright I'm with my boys and with my troops,
Down along the avenue some guys are shootin' pool
And I heard the sound of acapella groups,
Singin' late in the evening,
and all the girls out on the stoops.

The 1976 Cracker Jack game:

So did anyone else have this game? It was basically "Concentration" but with Cracker Jack prizes. I played it alot.

I was just thinking about:

Susan Anton. I don't recall her ever doing anything, but she was pretty hot... I'm guessing this pic's from sometime around '79 to '82 (on a side note, looks her top could've used a strap or two.. just sayin').

In 1973:

I was downing these babies like cherry Life Savers. I still sneak one, now and then..

You can say what you want about Barbra Streisand, but back in the day, she was an exquisitely beautiful woman. As far as I know, she's never had plastic surgery. Somebody once asked why she never went under the knife, and she replied "because I don't want to look like anybody else. I want to look like me". I really admire her for that, as well as anybody who loves themselves for the way they are. Nobody's perfect, we all have our flaws. Maybe someday the plastic surgery craze will pass, but I think it's sad when anyone can't accept themselves for who they are, and love themselves in spite of their imperfections. Everyone's beautiful in their own way.

Pepsi Light:

In 1977, this was my favorite soft drink. I loved this stuff..
