The Spiritual Parallels of the Titanic

We're all sick to death of the Titanic. But there's so many spiritual connections:

1. Many of the people who perished didn't have to. Many lifeboats left half-full or even emptier. Many people got into the lifeboats and then abandoned them for the "security" of the ship. Many people abandon the safety of Christ for the security of money, power, material posessions, bank accounts, etc. They perished because they simply made the wrong choice.

2. This world is a sinking ship.

3. Jesus is the lifeboat, but we must place ourselves in his hands in order to be saved.

4. Man was over-confident in his abilities. If the ship had proceded cautiously through the night, disaster would have been averted. Time is drawing to a close, this world is about to be destroyed and only those who put their faith in Christ will be saved. Don't make the wrong choice and perish needlessly.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, so that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our lord." Romans 6:23

"If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire." Revelation 20:15
