Our house was a very very very fine house.

The house my parents bought new in 1967, that they paid $18,000 for, and sold in 1974 for $30,000, just went on the market last week for $419,000. The present owners will probably get it, too.
Wow....

that's a nice looking house. isn't it amazing the way houses have appreciated? or better yet, the owners have gotten greedy...

The house I grew up in my dad inherited when he was about 28...it was scott free. When he and my mom sold it when they got divorced in 1995, it sold for a million. Two years later, those people sold it for 2.5 million. Last year it sold for 3.5 million (in Los Angeles, overlooking Malibu) Makes me sick.

Teri: I always wanted to buy the house back. But not for $419K...

Teri: Well I'm not tellin. You'll just have to guess.

Stepping: They should have given it to you. Parents can be so selfish... especially mine.

One of my parent's friends was telling me the story of when they bought their house in 1965 for $23,000... she used to lay awake at night wondering how she would ever be able to pay the mortgage of $123 a month for the next 30 years! (Houses in that neighborhood still are selling between $800-900K).

Sweet looking house... what a cute kid!

Lovely house, and yes you were adorable, still are.

House stories: parents bought house on GI bill in San Diego(Clairmont) for $9K, sold for 70K, bought another one for 70K(Mission Hills) sold for 750K now worth - even with the depression 950K.

Worth of my property here - nada baby.
