Do you remember:
The Jan's Aunt Jenny episode where Jan finds an old pic of a relative (Aunt Jenny, played by Imogene Coca who went on to play Aunt Edna in National Lampoon's Vacation) who looked exactly like Jan when she was Jan's age, and Jenny sends Jan a current picture of herself, and Jan has a meltdown thinking she's going to get ugly when she gets older. She really took it hard. Although, in her defense, to think you're gonna look like Imogene Coca when you get older probably would be upsetting for anyone.

Patty Hearst:
I remember the whole Patty Hearst case, and how the news would interrupt my Saturday Morning Cartoons... Even though I watched it on Television and was told over and over why they did what they did (apparantly she had just joined some militia called the Simbianese Liberation Army), I still couldn't understand why they robbed that bank, and quite frankly I still don't get it. But whatever..

Random thought:
It always struck me as being odd that even though there was the youngest child, none of the stories were ever about her. If she had even one sentence an episode (or even just a word or two), I'm not aware of it. She was always just running around in the scene but wasn't really part of the show. She was just sort of a prop .. or a walk-in extra...

Sorry for all the MTM pics lately, but I found them all on a latest internet search and I need to use them up:
It seems that someone just got on Mr. Grant's "bad side". I guess someone went looking for another job that day..
.. I'm wondering if it's the episode where Mary hires a female friend to do the Sports segment, but all the new employee wants to talk about is Women's Diving because there was no violence involved in the sport. And I guess the new employee didn't cover some major baseball event to devote the whole segment to Women's Diving. So after "the talk", Mary sends her packing. I must say she deserved it.
Some call him "the gangster of love":
Some people call him the space cowboy, yeah. Some call him the gangster of love. Some people call him Maurice, Cause he speaks of the pompitous of love. Charlie And The Chocolate Factory:
I read this book back around 1978, and I liked it so much better than the Gene Wilder movie. I thought the illustrations were excellent. My favorite part of the book was the story about the prince who built his castle out of chocolate, and he woke up on a hot day and his castle had melted. I didn't see the Johnny Depp movie version, although yesterday at Best Buy I was watching the scene with Veruca in the squirrel room, and I must say I found it kind of disturbing ...

Ronco Records:
Ronco records were heavily marketed in the mid-late 70's, but the company has long since gotten out of the music business. I'm surprised Ronco doesn't make cheesey CD's, considering that they make everything else, and I bet they'd sell a lot more CD's than they do their kitchen gadgets. Like does the "set-it-and-forget-it" really work??? I doubt it.
