I'd forgotten all about it until today. Even though I played with it, I don't really remember liking it too much. Looking back I can't really understand the point of a clock that doesn't keep time, but whatever. Btw, that's not my hand...
Using my blog to try and make the world a better place. If I can help someone forget their troubles for a few minutes a day, it's all worth it.

Saturday Night Disco:
"Rock The Boat" by The Hues Corporation. Some consider this to be the very first disco song... unless I'm confusing it with a different one......

I remember an episode of Little House On The Prairie...
... when there was a boy who was always being picked-on by several of his classmates, and one day when he was on his way to school, they jumped him and threw him into a mud hole. The boy showed up to school any way without changing his clothes, covered in mud, and announced to the class that doing that to another person "ain't right. It just ain't right". Then the teacher and everyone else in the class started to cry....
Eve Cigarettes:
Thanks to Kurt Walters who reminded me of these. I found the above pics on a Google image search. Nobody I knew smoked them though. Seems like they were trying to gain a foothold into the Virginia Slims market. I love the Wacky Pack sticker.

Um, there were no yachts, people...
In the '70s, my grandparents who lived in Chatham were members of the Allen Harbor Yacht Club in Harwich Port, Massachusetts. It was designated as a yacht club, but not one single member of the club owned a yacht. Nobody. My grandparents owned a 20' motor boat that they used to take out and drink on. I think a couple of people had small sailboats, but no yachts. I doubt anybody to this day owns a yacht, but whatever.

Had it:
The above is a circa 1976 plush raccoon toy with a radio inside the body. They were manufactured by Radio Shack. I received one in the Christmas of that year. It went everywhere with me for a couple of years until I outgrew it, then my folks threw it out. I believe it was AM only, and as I can remember none of the stations ever came in clearly. Still it was a definite fave. There were other animal characters also, but I forget what they were.

It's amazing I wasn't permanently damaged:
Back in the day, my grandparents were huge Lawrence Welk Show fans. And whenever we visited them we would have to watch it. I still haven't forgiven them...
