As I recall...

... back in the day, digital watches were very expensive. And most, in retrospect, were extremely ugly. I'm not sure if they make them any more, but then again not many people these days wear watches except as a fashion accessory. The list of common everyday staples of life from back in the day that are becoming (or have become) obsolete is steadily growing: watches, rotary and land line phones, black-and-white televisions, typewriters, record players, newspapers (even magazines are on the decline). And to be honest I don't recall the last time I've seen an ash tray being for sale in a store. I can't really say that I miss them though. Especially the ash trays.

Times are a changing'. I haven't worn a watch in years, myself, and don't really miss them.

I'd buy one but I just can't get used to wearing a watch

We cannot wear a watch... too many "accidents.... and a watch is almost as bad as a chain ( for wearing around the neck)... They are always getting caught on something... can't even wear a ring ... still have a scar on my finger from my class ring from years ago.... and we wear nothing around our neck... You should have seen the few times that we ended up "hanging by the neck from a chain.... Lucky for me the chain would break....
