Misc. Remembrance:

In the early '70s when I watched Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, I thought it was really cool that he had a traffic light in his apartment (which, when you think about it, if you're going to have a traffic light for private use you pretty much have to steal one because you just can't buy them in stores). I asked my folks if we could install one in our home and of course they said "no". I told myself that when I got older I'd have one in my place, but now that I'm old enough to make that call, for some reason it just doesn't seem that important as it used to be..

That was always one of my favorite things, too. =)

I actually had one in my classroom. It's actually called the Yacker Tracker, and it's designed to help manage the noise-level in your classroom. It stays green when the noise-level is acceptable, but if the class starts to get too loud, it switches to yellow as a warning. If they really lose it, and get out of hand, it flashes red, and an alarm goes off. I used to love that thing! :P

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, my friend!

I thought I'd already commented on this one. I know I bookmarked CTG's Yacker Tracker after reading her comment. Hmmmm. Anyway, YES to the in-home traffic light. I always wanted a house that had a "sunken"/step-down living room too. And I liked how his kitchen was toward the back of the house-set. My childhood home had the kitchen as the room farthest in the back, and I loved that, it was so cozy.
