Using my blog to try and make the world a better place. If I can help someone forget their troubles for a few minutes a day, it's all worth it.

I watch the ripples change their size, but never leave the stream of warm impermanent sand. So the days flow through my eyes but still the days seem the same. And these children that you spit on as they try to change their world are immune to your consultations. They're quite aware of what they're going through.

Christmas eve:

Christmas eve was always such a fun night as a kid. I really miss those days.

Great Calvin & Hobbes cartoon! I loved Christmas eve too as a kid and never could get to sleep on that night.
Merry Christmas, Joe!

It does change over the years. Trick is to find the joy and happiness in however it is now. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and an amazing 2014 to you, Joe!

Yes--more bittersweet as we get older. I was just telling my mom over Christmas that my last "dying of Christmas Eve hysteria" kind of Christmas Eve as a kid was when I was 12. That was the first year I was more excited about seeing my younger brother, then-7, have a good Christmas and a fun time than I was focused on myself. That's "nice"--and some would say closer to what Christmas is "supposed" to be about--but it was kind of sad too, not to feel that "ARGHHHH! IT'S CHRISTMAS EVE!" craziness for the first time. There's nothing else like the way the way Christmas Eve feels as a kid.
