The 10-speed was the dominant bicycle back in the day. I didn't have a 10-speed though. I had a Huffy bike which was basically a mountain-bike with thick tires (10-speeds had very thin tires). Huffy bikes were much more fun than 10-speeds. Give me a mountain bike over a streamlined 10-speed any day.Wednesday, March 23, 2011

I had a red Schwinn Sprint 10 speed. Just sold it a couple of years ago at a garage sale.
Everyone HAD to have a 10 speed back in the day. I had a red Schwinn, too. I remember the guys used to turn their handlebars around backwards trying to be cool and they would see all those different colored tapes for your handlebars.
I inherited my big brothers bike. It was stuck in third gear. It was hard going, but built up my leg muscles great!
