Using my blog to try and make the world a better place. If I can make someone forget their troubles for a few minutes a day, it's all worth it.

I watch the ripples change their size, but never leave the stream of warm impermanent sand. So the days flow through my eyes but still the days seem the same. And these children that you spit on as they try to change their world are immune to your consultations. They're quite aware of what they're going through.

Sing a song, sing out loud, sing out strong.

Sing a song, sing out loud, sing out strong.
Sing of good things, not bad. Sing of happy, not sad. Sing a song, make it simple to last your whole life long. Don't worry that it's not good enough for anyone else to hear, just sing a song.

I've seen a dozen after school specials, but below wasn't one of them:

Let's hear it for Bernie Koppel! It's always a gas to see comedic tv actors in a straight tv movie role.

Sometimes, in their performances, you can detect a small bit of yearning for career that involved more serious gigs.

I didn't see this one, but man, I used to LOVE the After School Specials.

That's Doc from Love Boat, and the kid from The Boy Who Could Fly (he now does commercials, usually for pharmaceuticals, for a living)!

Captain Steubing would be able to straighten that punker out.

Chi: I used to forget they were on, so usually I'd miss the first 15 minutes.

Laura: I believe he was also one of Marlo Thomas' neighbors in "That Girl", and I think he might've even been a warlock on Bewitched.

Dad is right to be alarmed. Of all the 70s cultural movements his kid could select from the menu, he chose this? Where did we go wrong? :)
