In the late 70's/early 80's, I worked with a aging British biologist who told me about her venture in raising worms for fishing (the huge trench in her back yard, feeding them oats, etc) and all the many recipes for cooking these highly nutritious hermaphrodites. (And doesn't that phrase make you salivate?)She also said that plain Milkbones were the best for long hikes because they didn't break down with moisture.She was a somewhat bizaare and totally cool old gal!
I have to say that while they had a hint of flavor, they're actually quite bland
