Marathon bars:

In 1975, I could have lived on Marathon bars... well, not really, but I thought I could. The pic of the guy is from an actual Marathon Bar commercial.

If that's a Marathon, it was called a Curly Wurly over here. The Marathon bar over here was what you know as a Snickers.
I was partial to a Curly Wurly on the way to school.

You know, if I'm not mistaken (and really, when am i ever), he sure looks like the guy who played Jesse James on that episode of the Brady Bunch (Bobby's dream where he robs the train and shoots all the Bradys dead). That really traumatized me for a few minutes back then....

That's John Waynes son.

I'm looking for 70's folks that loved space food sticks as much as I did. Anyone?

That is Patrick Wayne (John Wayne's son) as Marathon John.

I don't think Patrick was ever on The Brady Bunch, but he was in a bunch of other TV shows like Love American Style and Police Woman.

I don't know, guys,,,, I'm still sticking with that 'Jesse James' theory...

"Space food sticks"... hmm, don't recall. I'll do a search.

From what I found a Gordon DeVol played Jesse James in that episode. That specific show was a bit on the edge for the Brady Bunch. I am still interested in learning about the space food sticks.

I remember the candy but not the commerical....

I think it went along the lines of: the guy pictured would be challenged to a shoot-out, but first they had to wait 'til he finished his marathon bar..
or something like that......

Loved Marathon bars, and I'm a collector, as well. If you'd like to see exactly what a Marathon bar wrapper looked like, I have one, and posted it here:

I barely remember these the caramel in them would have kept me away from them, i had some bad cavities and sticky caramel gave me toothaches that were worse than death.
