Mammoth Mart:

I was just thinking about Mammoth Mart. I'm guessing they don't exist anymore. Here's some pics.

There was a TG&Y where I lived in florida, but that was the 80's.
We all made fun of that place, btw.

I worked at Mammoth Mart in the mid 70's at the No. Haven CT store. Our paychecks had Marty the elephant on them. Mammoth Mart was going belly up and the chain was bought up by Kings Dept Stores in '78 just before I left.Ahh, the 70's, Far Out Man Dont be a rat Fink man.

Oh just for grins and giggles, i was by the old mammoth mart today. The shopping mall is gone, it a HUGE complex that makes medical equipment. the old Mammoth Mart building is still there - they make syringe needles in there now. Geeze, the mast for the stores CB radio antenna is still there! Hard to believe that whole area and the stores and shopsare gone/ Oh well, do yourself a favor - dont get old!

One more= I have fond memories of leaving the store after closing up at 10pm, hopping into my 68 Chevy Chevelle (souped up 350) popping my KISS 8 track in, pumping up the volume and leaving the parking lot burning rubber half way up Middletown ave! Now Im in bed at 10pm and what I used to do all night now takes all night to do! Thanks for the Mammoth Mart memories
