Using my blog to try and make the world a better place. If I can help someone forget their troubles for a few minutes a day, it's all worth it.

I watch the ripples change their size, but never leave the stream of warm impermanent sand. So the days flow through my eyes but still the days seem the same. And these children that you spit on as they try to change their world are immune to your consultations. They're quite aware of what they're going through.

Martin had a bad day:

Martin: Come here. Give us a kiss.
Sean: Why?
Martin: `Cause I need it.
(he gets his kiss)
Martin: .. get outta here...

I love later in that scene, after Hooper arrives, Martin tells him he's going to finish his wine, then they're going to go down and cut that shark open they caught to see if it was the the one who ate the boy swimmer.

His wife asks, "Martin, can you do that?"

Martin's classic, tipsy reply: "I can do anything...I'm the chief of police."

Some films are timeless. This was one of them. It'll always be good.
