The most glorious day of the year was back to school time. I only say this because one that amazing day in August my mom would break down and buy the 64 box with the built in sharpener! It was holy.
I always wanted and got the largest box with the most crayons they had. When I was a kid that wasn't very many. Wish I could remember how many were in the biggest box. I would spend many hours drawing (I could look at a magazine cover and draw the same thing on paper with a pencil.) I have always been a pencil person.
I love the big box of Crayolas. I have one that I use at home to color my classroom materials.
Meg: Opening the box I could almost hear that "cloud-parting-angel-singing" kind of sound.. Ann: Nope, not a pencil person. You're on your own with that one ;^)Ms. Deborah: You're fortunate you still get to use them. If I started using them again at 41, well, people would start talking (if you know what I mean)....
I STILL have a box layin around...and it is the biggest box I could find (120) with a crayon SHARPENER!!!!! When I was in school I think the biggest they had was 68 and the crayon sharpener came built into the back of the box. I always had to get this particular box and they HAD to be crayola (NO ROSE ART for me)Who knew I was a crayon snob? (LOL)I still like to color and draw. I have always been into arts, crafts and creative stuff. If you like crayons Joe, then get you a box....there's no age limit and I won't tell :) Call me crazy but I bought some playdough and moon sand too because I think it is neat stuff and always lovd the playdough fun factory as a kid.
A friend of mine had the Playdoh barber shop. I liked watching the "hair" sprout out of their heads.
Yeah I had the box that was the size of a board game with a sharpener. And didn't they taste great back then?
ditto. me and my sister always had crayons around the house. they have so many more colors, these days.
Goggles: They tasted allright, but not as good as paste... Teri: Come to think of it, crayons are the one toy everybody had.
Your right joe, one day they will have chocolate paste but probably after we are all taking a dirt nap.
Mmmm, chocolate paste...
I had the playdough barber shop too. I think it was called the Mop Top Hair Shop in My day. I found out a couple of months ago (in a family discussion of old toys we loved) that my Mom liked to play with it as much as I did. I do remember her playing it with me...I just never knew she enjoyed it that much.
Parents rarely 'fess up to stuff like that.
