I don't know why George and Louise had a live-in maid. They had an incredibly small 2br apartment (actually, we only ever saw one br. I don't recall seeing Florence's room). Of course, I didn't question it at the time, since I was only 10....

Didn't Lionel have his own room for a while so it must have been a 3-bedroom?
I also think there was a guest room for Mother Jefferson making the apartment a four bedroom.
Oh yeah guys I forgot about that. So I guess it wasn't so shabby after all.

That was a funny show. I often watched it.
