Using my blog to try and make the world a better place. If I can help someone forget their troubles for a few minutes a day, it's all worth it.

I watch the ripples change their size, but never leave the stream of warm impermanent sand. So the days flow through my eyes but still the days seem the same. And these children that you spit on as they try to change their world are immune to your consultations. They're quite aware of what they're going through.

Dinah Shore:

Does anyone out there remember The Dinah Shore Show?? Do you? 'Cause I sure don't. Of course I remember it existed, or I wouldn't have posted it, but I didn't watch it. I think my Aunt Nancy watched it, but that's about it... Btw, the logo is from '75 (I only know because it was in the description of the search result).. I was more into Land of The Lost back then...
Click pic for larger image, if that's your "thing"...

I remember watching it after school and when we got snowed in. It was the first place I saw Tom Waits perform.

Apparantly back in the day, anybody who was anybody was on that show.

The only thing I really remember about Dinah Shore was her and Burt Reynolds dating.

My parents were hippies and the last thing they were watching was Dinah Shore, lol.

your Good Friday page is giving an error message "no such page"
Sorry bout that.

Yes I remember Dinah but I really never liked the singing and dancing shows. I was a murder mystery fan.

The jersey's shown in one of those photos were very cool back then. Grannyann, you probably watched the Rockford Files, that was one we liked.

Keie: Burt Reynolds and Dinah Shore always seemed to me to be a bit of a mis-match. It just didn't seem right.

Ann: You didn't like this show? Good, then you can stay ;^) I got rid of the Good Friday post. It just didn't seem to theme well with the rest of the site.

Jim: The Rockford Files was cool. I liked that one.

I didn't watch Dinah either. Yay - I can stay this time. I thought she did some commercials too (?)

Yes. She was a spokeswoman for Chevrolet. She sang: "See the USA in your Chevrolet"..

I think my mom watched this because I do remember it. I was surprised later when I found out she was actually a singer in the 1950s. Michael Douglas also had a show like this.

And so did Merv Griffin.

I used to watch Dinah as part of weekday talk show fix. She was usually in the morning--the other guys were in the afternoon.

I remember her other logo: it was her signature, but the n and a were just a line. It went D-i-LOONG LINE-h. It FASCINATED me as a kid. I ended up adopting something similar for my signature... (who knew I wanted to be Dinah Shore? I always thought I wanted to be Marlo Thomas!)

I wanted to be Grizzly Adams.
Without the coke habit, though...

Actually, you guys are mixing up the two versions of Dinah's show. She had started out as a band singer and movie actress in the forties, reached what appeared to be a career peak with a popular fifties variety show. By the time she returned to TV in the seventies it was mostly a talk show with some music. She was the Oprah of her day as likely to tackle serious issues as she was to plug somebody's upcoming movie. Dinah was considered surprisingly hip during the ME decade and really did have just about everybody who was anybody on her show! I was a teenager at the time and saw most of the popular musicians of the day on her show. I got to see an episode recorded live at a local amusement park with the popular soul group, the Spinners.
